I’ve done my first long ride today. It was 24.5km from right bank to the left and back. The route is here. Today was a thought working day, because I didn’t have any interesting things to do, only unimportant and irrelevant little annoying tasks. After all of that I had a nervous meeting with irritated people. I was looking frward to the evening ride to have a relief. And now I’m sure that riding a bike is a great antidepressant! Now I’m calm and optimistic ![]()

Nice mashup, Gmaps Pedometer, I love it, will definitely use it sometime.
25 km by bike in Kyiv is too much, imho.
Be careful on roads, wear a protective helmet if possible.
ps
Suggestion for WP settings tweaking:
———————————–
Create a new user in WordPress blog and use him for posting new blog entries, otherwise all entries has an author “Administrator”, which does not sound right to me.

Thanks for taking care my safety
Actually, 25km is not so long distance. The average weekend bike trip of people from velokiev.com is 90km. Of course they have some short breaks during the ride, and a lunch near the river or in the forest. After yesterday’s trip I changed my mind about taking part in rides like Kyiv-Chernigiv-Kyiv in the near future
Few words about helmet. You’re absolutely right that it is necessary thing, but unfortunately I paid for the bike all my money I planned to spend on protective armour and other gadgets like bike computer. Currently, I’m riding cool naked bike

I know about users in WP and actually use it sometimes. However logging in as a administrator gives me opportunity to adjust my blog every time I want, e.g. arrange posts to appropriate categories. Even if you’re logged as an administrator, you can post as any member. I just forget to change this option sometimes
